Japan 6 Months On

Just six months ago the triple blow of the earthquake, tsunami and consequent nuclear incident had a devastating effect on Japan.

But, with remarkable resilience, the country and its people are recovering, and while there obviously remains much to do in rebuilding and rehabilitation, they clearly believe that getting business back on track will help to get the country back to normal.

Focus on Brazil - Challenges and Opportunities

NCSL, Nottingham
Fri 25th Sep 2009, 09:30 to 13:00

This event has finished.

Home to Latin America’s largest economy, Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world and has a population of approximately 185 million. Brazil is also the UK’s most important trading partner in South America and bilateral trade between the countries increased 38% to over £4 billion last year.

Realise Brazil’s potential and how you could develop your business in one of the world’s fastest growing economies by joining emita, supported by UKTI, for a morning seminar on Friday 25 September.

We have arranged for a number of experts to share their knowledge and uncover:

·         How the Brazilian economy is faring and the current trading conditions;

·         The key opportunities this market offers, including the development of infrastructure for the 2014 FIFA World Cup;

·         Practical advice on accessing the market and overcoming the challenges it poses;

·         How companies in the region can capitalise on the opportunities arising from Brazil’s fiscal stimulus package;

·         A local company’s experiences of successfully entering the Brazilian market.

In addition, we will be launching UKTI’s March 2010 market visit to Brazil and joining forces with the Commercial Section of the British Consulate-General São Paulo via live video link, giving you the chance to have all your burning questions answered.

The morning will come to a close with lunch at 1.00 pm. After lunch, there will be the opportunity for one-to-one meetings with our market experts, Martin Raven, HM Consul-General São Paulo and Chris Wall, Brazilian Business Specialist.
