Japan 6 Months On

Just six months ago the triple blow of the earthquake, tsunami and consequent nuclear incident had a devastating effect on Japan.

But, with remarkable resilience, the country and its people are recovering, and while there obviously remains much to do in rebuilding and rehabilitation, they clearly believe that getting business back on track will help to get the country back to normal.

Emerging Markets - Too Much Potential To Ignore

Emerging Markets - Too Much Potential To Ignore

Holywell Park, Loughborough
Thu 25th Feb 2010, 09:00 to 13:15

This event has finished.

Every year emita hosts one major daytime event and this year, in partnership with UKTI, we invite you to join us to explore some of the world’s fastest growing markets in the Middle East and the Asia Pacific and to discover the wealth of opportunities available to British businesses.

Many emerging markets have outperformed the developed economies over the past ten years and are now recovering from global recession significantly faster.

The developed economies are forecast to grow by less than 1% in 2010, whereas the emerging markets are likely to grow by close to 5%, led by China and India but also supported by strong performances in other countries including the Middle East. If emerging economies continue to grow at recent rates, the result will be hundreds of millions of potential new middle-class consumers eager to spend money on western goods and services.

Taking place on Thursday 25 February at Holywell Park, Loughborough, this prestigious half day event offers a blend of presentations, market specific workshops including case studies, one to one advice, an exhibition of key partners and trade organisations and opportunities to network with fellow exporters.

We are pleased to announce that UKTI’s Business Ambassador Sir Roger Bone, President of Boeing UK, will open the event providing an insight on the growing importance of the emerging markets. The economic and political prospects of these markets over the next two years will also be addressed by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Senior Asia Analyst, Anjalika Bardalai.

In addition there will be the opportunity to learn about the potential for your business in the following markets from our experts and from local companies already successfully trading there:

·         India

·         Thailand & Vietnam

·         Singapore & Malaysia

·         Turkey

·         Saudi Arabia

·         UAE & Qatar

So come along to the largest event of the emita 2010 calendar and you will get sound practical advice on the next steps to developing your overseas business further.
