A Retiring Glance At Trade – Past, Present And Future
As my tenure at UK Trade & Investment draws to a close, it’s time for a little reflection…
Import Finance - Exclusive Members event
East Midlands Development Agency (emda), Nottingham
Calling all Importers
Emita are delighted that one of our sponsors, The Royal Bank of Scotland, has agreed to hold a series of local events focussing specifically on Import Finance.
The first event is to be held at East Midlands Development Agency (emda) at Apex Court, Nottingham, ng2 4LA on Wednesday 17th May 2006. A light breakfast will be available from 8.15am and the presentation will conclude by 9.30am with opportunities for coffee and informal discussions to follow afterwards.
Expert speakers will include:-
David Pearson, International Trade Finance Director at RBS. David leads a team of 15 International specialists across the Midlands. He will take you through the Trade Cycle looking at how extra cash can be generated from a transaction. A number of real life case studies will be used to illustrate the points.
Mark Heal, International Banking Services. Mark has an extensive background both in industry and banking and he will look at how to manage and mitigate the risks involved in importing
Chris Meldrum, Business Development Manager with RBS Invoice Finance. Chris is an engaging and accomplished speaker who will look at the growth of receivables finance in the world of International Trade
Over 8,000 companies in the East Midlands import over £12 Billion worth of goods each year. This can greatly enhance profit margins but it often puts immense pressure on the cashflow of a business.
These presentations will help you to identify how you can release more cash from your trade cycle and also take a look at how you can minimise the risks involved in importing goods.
This will be a fairly small interactive event so numbers really are restricted. Please book early to reserve your place.
Import Finance is exclusive to EMITA member and again adds great value to your membership of this fast growing organisation.
For anyone wishing to join EMITA the cost is only £50 which will entitle you to attend Import Finance and all future EMITA seminars free for a whole year!
