The country has a middle class population of 300 million, representing a powerful consumer market with a rapidly increasing disposable income. The UK has strong ties with India and UK companies are well positioned to take advantage of this growing export and investment market.

The evening will be opened by Deepak Lalwani from Astaire & Partners Ltd, who will be reviewing the Indian financial markets; how they are performing and the investment opportunities available. There will also be the chance to hear from Kevin McCole, UK India Business Council, on how to take advantage of the opportunities created by the rapid growth of India’s seven emerging cities, followed by advice from Jeet Jandu, UKTI, on how to capitalise on India’s fiscal stimulus plan. Finally Gleeds, management and construction consultants, will provide tips and advice based on their experiences of successfully investing in the market through a merger with an established Indian partner, before the evening is brought to a close with a panel discussion.
