Japan 6 Months On

Just six months ago the triple blow of the earthquake, tsunami and consequent nuclear incident had a devastating effect on Japan.

But, with remarkable resilience, the country and its people are recovering, and while there obviously remains much to do in rebuilding and rehabilitation, they clearly believe that getting business back on track will help to get the country back to normal.

Marston's Brewery Tour - MEMBERS ONLY EVENT

Join us for a tour of Marston’s Brewery and discover the care and attention that goes into making some of Britain’s best loved beers!

Marstons Brewery, Burton on Trent
Wed 18th Aug 2010, 18:00 to 21:00

This event has finished.

As part of emita’s summer programme of events, we are pleased to offer our members the opportunity to visit Marston’s Brewery in Burton-on-Trent.

Burton-on-Trent was the engine room for brewing in the 19th century, with 26 brewers and 20 cooperages.

The secret of Burton's brewing success lies in it's water, the perfect blend for brewing bitter with its unique combination of sulphur, calcium, magnesium and low sodium levels.

John Marstons founded J.Marston and Son at the Horninglow Brewery in Burton in 1834. In 1898, the company moved to the Albion Brewery, where the company remains today. In a town that was built by brewers, only Marston’s now remains to preserve the heritage and tradition of Burton brewing. It is the only brewer in the UK to still employ coopers and use the Burton Union System.

Join us on Wednesday 18 August to experience the unique, time honoured brewing methods in action. Of course, there will also be plenty of time for networking too whilst enjoying samples of Marston’s beers!
