Exporting starts at home

A short while ago I dined at a very well known Leicestershire venue that attracts people from all over the country. The dessert menu included 'a selection of French cheeses'. Nothing wrong in that you may say but ponder a little longer and you begin to wonder why specifically French cheeses. That venue is but a few miles from the source of some of the best cheeses in the world, made locally in Leicestershire. The UK more widely makes a huge range of some of the finest cheeses that money can buy.

The East Midlands China Business Bureau is offering regional Businesses and education providers the chance to join our market visit to Shanghai and Ningbo this October.

As the commercial, financial, and industrial centre of China, Shanghai has maintained its GDP growth rate at 2 digit figures for 13 successive years. Its key industries include IT, automotive, chemicals and biopharmaceuticals, and its finance, insurance, transportation, telecommunication, retailing and wholesale sectors are also growing rapidly. Ningbo is a major port for international trade, and is also an important manufacturing base for automotive, papermaking and textile goods.

With a support package including £750 subvention for eligible companies and assistance from our China Business Advisors throughout this is an opportunity not to be missed.
