The awards are made annually by HM The Queen, and are only given for the highest levels of excellence demonstrated in each category. They are judged to a demanding level and winners receive a number of benefits and worldwide recognition. Previous winners have come from a diverse selection of business sectors and have included large and small businesses.
To be eligible for the Queen’s Award for International Trade, you must be able to show that your business has made substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success. The level of growth must be considered ‘outstanding’ when compared with your relative business size and your business sector. You can apply under either of the two criteria below:
- Outstanding achievement in international trade, sustained over not less than three years
- Continuous achievement in international trade, sustained over not less than six years
If your business fits the bill, ensure that you start the application process soon as the closing date for applications is 2pm on Friday 29 October 2010.
