Japan 6 Months On

Just six months ago the triple blow of the earthquake, tsunami and consequent nuclear incident had a devastating effect on Japan.

But, with remarkable resilience, the country and its people are recovering, and while there obviously remains much to do in rebuilding and rehabilitation, they clearly believe that getting business back on track will help to get the country back to normal.

Philippa is a semi retired Director of a many faceted, privately owned Gift Company, being responsible for the overseeing of all national and international exhibitions.

She has worked with DTI on numerous advisory boards, including a major study on the effectiveness of Whitehall's delivery of trade support and latterly, the Sector Prioritisation Study. Philippa was a member of the UK Trade and Investment main Board and is now on the new International Business Advisory Board. She is a Director of the British Jewellery Giftware and Finishing Federation and is the Director responsible for exports within this sector. The Federation is also the Government's third party deliverer for export services in this sector.
